ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO CALIFORNIA AND THE NATION

Here are the issues I believe to be key to, not only secure our economic recovery as a State and a Nation, but also raise America up, once again, to the most powerful and respected Nation in the World.  "WE THE PEOPLE" as a State and Nation must do the following:

 fully-fund our National Defense, state and local law enforcement and secure our borders;
degrade and eliminate ISIS and other terrorist organizations wherever they exist;
support Israel and keep Iran from developing a nuclear capability while keeping a close eye on North Korea where Iran’s nuclear arsenal is being developed;
 defund and place economic sanctions on country’s that have no respect for human life and vow to kill Americans here at home and abroad. Why did the Obama Administration send $1.5B to Iran for hostages and massive aid to other countries when our own children, veterans, and seniors need food, medicine, clothing and places to live?
address communist aggression; put Putin in his place;
remove Assad from power;
■ improve and expand our economy through deregulation, decreasing corporate and capital gains taxes, revising the tax code, reducing entitlements, and renegotiating our treaties on trade, making them beneficial to America
 protect our veterans by ensuring the programs that meet their needs are in place when they need them, to the extent they need them, while ensuring highly qualified doctors and nurses treat them, including counseling.  Currently, 22 veterans commit suicide each day.
■ ensure life-at-conception (Pro-Life), defund Planned Parenthood, and repeal doctor- assisted suicide and the death tax
 reduce the size of government in Washington, making it less intrusive in our daily lives
■ place a moratorium on ‘Common Core’; Common Core has dropped American History from our curriculum in many school districts
 place a moratorium on immigration while we determine a fair and equitable immigration policy that does not include blanket amnesty.  I want to know who’s here now before we take in more immigrants!  We haven’t properly vetted immigrants for decades!  We should take care of Americans first before we even think about adding millions of immigrants to our population.  We must pay particular attention to immigrants from nations that want Americans dead.  We need to say ‘yes’ to deportation and ‘no’ to Sanctuary Cities;
 invest in our infra-structure through the reduction and elimination of entitlement programs which account for over 50% of our Nation’s annual budget.  Resurrect the WPA and CCC programs of the Roosevelt years in order to put our unemployed and underemployed to work rebuilding our infra-structure.
replace our current welfare system, which has created a 60-year culture of dependency on government, with a system of ‘welfare-to-work’ programs, to include the Roosevelt-era programs indicated above.  These programs can provide a hand up rather than a handout and, once again, instill pride in a weary population. These programs are essential to develop a pool of skilled workers that have been siphoned off by companies moving overseas;
 sustain Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid while increasing benefits for our seniors citizens
 eliminate the discriminatory components of the Affordable Care Act;
 replace liberal Justices and put forth judicial candidates with Constitutionally conservative values;
promote alternative energy such as hydro-electric power and desalination of salt water for agriculture, domestic, and commercial use – our troops drank desalinized water in Europe and Asia and aboard our Navy’s vessels during WWII - Israel has over a decade of experience with desalination, providing clean water free to farmers to grow their crops to feed their Nation and free to industry to retain and create jobs. Israel has turned a crisis into an ‘economic engine.’  America can also do so!

Tom Palzer for U.S. Senate 2018

I'm announcing that I intend to run for the U.S. Senate in 2018 to defeat incumbent Diane Feinstein (D).  I'm doing this now for four (4) important reasons:
  1. We need ONE STRONG CONSTITUTIONALLY CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE to defeat the Democrat candidate in June and again in November of 2018;
  2. Our Party officials need to support the Republican candidate with the MOST EXPERIENCE of all other candidates.  I have 32 years of experience working with and advising elected and appointed officials at all levels of government.  I've worked with over 30 federal and state agencies, the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Department of Commerce and many others.  I am the candidate with the most experience to serve you in the U.S. Senate.
  3. Our Party DID NOT SUPPORT THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE WITH THE MOST EXPERIENCE IN 2016.  It played politics with less experienced candidates.  These candidates, who the media said were the wrong candidates appearing in televised debates, lost the 2016 election to two Democrats.
  4. OUR PARTY DOES NOT SUPPLY OUR CANDIDATES WITH THE DATA IT HAS AT THE STATE AND REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE (RNC) LEVELS.  As the candidate with the most experience in 2016, along with 7 other Republican candidates, we had absolutely no data provided to us by our own (our) Party. This guaranteed that no Republican could not be competitive; that all of our candidates were at a disadvantage right out of the gate.                                                                                                                                                                         The State Central Committee's policy for withholding the databases is that the data may be compromised. This lack of wisdom on the part of the Republican Party in California has greatly contributed to our Party's inability to elect a candidate to the U.S. Senate since 1988.  We need to reverse this defeatist practice to ensure that our candidates are provided with what we need to win elections at all levels of government or we're going to lose, not only our races, but our Republican base will continue to be stripped away.
What can you do?

You can contact the Republican State Central Committee members and tell them to change the Committee's policy for candidates regarding the availability of the databases; that you agree that the Committee has handicapped Republican candidates in the past; that you want this policy changed NOW, early in the process in order to support our candidates in the future.

As for me . . . .

I am willing to put myself out there, once again, in 2018 as I did in 2016, with all of the time away from family and substantial cost to run a race if our State Central Committee unites behind the ONE MOST EXPERIENCED CONSTITUTIONALLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE. Let's break down this wall within our own Party here in California.

Thank you!

Sincerely

Tom Palzer
